Laura was born in New York City but has resided in numerous cities throughout the United States. In 2001, after a successful 25 year career as a Medical Technologist, she and her husband retired to South Carolina. Laura has always had a love for art. But, pursuing her career and raising 3 children left her little time to further her artistic skills with art classes and workshops. Upon moving to the beautiful Low Country of South Carolina, Laura claims, "The artist in me exploded with a passion. Everywhere I looked I saw beauty and I was inspired to capture that beauty with my art."

Working primarily in pastels and oils, Laura uses vivid colors in her portrayal of landscapes, seascapes and Low Country life. She states, "I look for the beauty in every subject and try to portray that beauty, so that others can experience joy through my art." Laura also finds painting portraits to be very rewarding and challenging. She paints beautiful, realistic portraits of children, adults and pets. Laura has been commissioned to do portrait for weddings, graduations and other special occasions.

Her artwork has won numerous awards and has been featured in various publications. A well-known, award winning artist in the Low Country of South Carolina, Laura is now achieving national recognition with her artwork hanging in private collections throughout the United States and Canada. Laura is an associate member of the Pastel Society of America, Southeast Pastel Society, the Portrait Society of America, as well as the Summerville Artist's Guild.
